Development of digital technologies is not possible without qualified specialists in en-gineering and technology. At the present time many countries, including Russia, experience shortage of personnel in knowledge-base industries. One of the ways to overcome the staffing shortfall is attraction of women to STEM professions. Many foreign countries have already realized the need to increase the number of women occupied in technology, engineering, and mathematics to reduce the deficit of specialists and to increase the competitiveness in innova-tions. In this context it would interesting to study the experience of engaging women to STEM sector in the USA, which is one of the world leaders in addressing this issue.
