The article dwells upon the problem of political dimension of gender-age ste-reotyping. The first part of the paper focuses on the issues of intersections of age and power; the second one deals with specific of gender-age stereotyping; the third section sketches the contours of problem field of studying the gender-age stereotypes in politics (including symbolic politics, political preferences, the distribution of status positions in power structures, and others). The article demonstrates that in political sphere stereotypes of sex and age can both strengthen and weaken the influence of each other. The authors point out that gender-age stereotypes function as one of the resources of power. Read in PDF
