Abstract. In a context of geopolitical, economic, environmental and socio-political crises, often chaotic, the World Economic Forum brought together more than 1400 business
leaders, policymakers, international and civil society leaders, innovators and social entrepreneurs for its Sustainable Development Impact Meetings. The meetings aim to provide a significant platform for public-private collaboration, presenting keynote speeches and organizing public debates in support of achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The urgency for action is driven by the fact that only 17 % of Sustainable Development Goals targets are on track to be achieved by 2030. Moreover, nearly half have made minimal or moderate progress, and over a third have stalled or are in some cases regressing. The 2024 Sustainable Development Impact Meetings are taking place from 23 to 27 September in New York. Nearly one and a half million global leaders from across sectors and geographies come together to assess and renew global action to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals through a series of impact-focused multi-stakeholder dialogues. The meetings are an integral part of the Forum’s year-round work on sustainable development and its progress. The World Economic Forum is an independent and neutral platform for debate on key topics
shaping global, regional and sectoral agendas. Collaboration is urgent between the public and private sectors to achieve vital goals and drive action, partnerships and innovation for sustainable development. These initiatives and their key constituencies come together to advance their work at the Sustainable Development Impact Meetings, seeking to identify solutions and solutions to pressing challenges.
