Modern science needs young personnel, but the image of a scientist, especially women scientists, is full of stereotypes. This makes it difficult for young people to choose
science as a future field of labor activity. This article analyzes the study of the image of women scientists in domestic and foreign scientific literature. The article presents the results of the authors’ sociological research by the method of semi-formalized interview and DAST test analysis. The students of Ivanovo State University acted as an empirical object. It is concluded that the image of women scientists in the students’ perception is positive and corresponds to modern social realities, however, it is not devoid of some stereotypical features. The article presents recommendations for attracting girls to the sphere of professional scientific activity and outlines prospects for further research on this topic.
