The article analyses the reproduction of gender roles in Russian animated films. The process of creating “male” and “female” images is considered through the psycho-logical aspects, roles and place in the plot, which are attributed to the characters. The content analysis of the films of the animated series “Three Heroes”, released in 2004—2018, showed that the features of the characters are based on gender stereotypes. Female characters do not occupy central places in the plots, male characters are portrayed as more businesslike and responsible. Read in PDF
