The article analyzes the features of the labor behavior typical of women with family responsibilities. A typology of 5 kinds of female employment has been developed according to the degree of immersion in work. It is shown that women evaluate the complex of benefits from employment in the context of their comparison with the compensating factors of the workplace, and, if it meets their expectations, they make a decision about employment and the degree of immersion in it. The features of the labor behavior of the studied category of women are revealed: restrictions in the form of various fears and fears; overstated requirements for the workplace that do not correspond to the reality on the labor market; a variety of motives for work, including the predominance of psychological motives. The data of the au-thor’s survey and interviews showed that women’s employment strongly correlates with life situations. The authors formulated recommendations for improving the employment policy for women with family responsibilities in the context of two areas: with an emphasis on the motivation and models of women’s labor behavior and with an emphasis on the development of jobs that meet the needs and expectations of modern women.
