The article discusses influence that gender differences render on mass politics and possible use of theoretical findings to democratize mass politics. The strategy of «empowerment» and its growth was widely studied. It appeared on the tide of massive student protests at the end of 60th and was supported by new social movements in the 1970-ies. The basic idea of this strategy was the need to raise mass consciousness of women, so that they could acquire status of social entity thanks to education and collective «self-consciousness» within specific groups. In the past decades the experience in Russian women gender education which some women’s organizations acquired resembled the initial experiments of collective reflection in such groups.
