The essence of gender approach and the possibility of applying its provisions in studies of violence in premarital and marital relationships are examined in the article. Theoreti-cal conceptions are systematized, explaining the origin of violence in relations; measuresthat should be undertaken for the violence prevention in domestic relations are enumerated.
