Currently, a system of competitive projects is being developed, participation in which can become one of the factors determining people’s life strategies. The article presents an assessment of the modern federal competitive system aimed at developing leadership competencies. The analysis of the results of the competitive stages of the management competition “Leaders of Russia”, the international engineering championship “CASE-IN”, as well as the management cup “Manage!” through the prism of gender analysis.
